(Likely) World Record Black Grouper in the books!
Florida man fishing off the coast of Bonita Springs catches what could, and very likely will, be a world record Black Grouper.
The anglers name is Alex Newman and he has Ronald McDonald to thank for this one! Alex was fishing in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Rodeo Fishing Tournament. The world record black grouper, we at CFF have dubbed “Black Pearl” weighed in at 124.18lbs and 57 inches long. The current world record holders name is Tim Oestreich who caught a 124 pounder out of Texas in 2003.
Alex, great job on this fish and bringing the record back to Florida. We wish you good luck with getting into the record books. CFF would love to hear more about the experience. You definitely are a Complete Florida Fisherman!
