The freshwater fishing along Alligator Alley comes in at No. 4 on the Complete Florida Fishing list of the Best Florida Fishing Spots that you’ve never fished. The section of I-75 named Alligator Alley stretches from Naples to Ft. Lauderdale across Southern Florida and is also home to some of the best Bass Fishing Florida has to offer. While most people race across Alligator Alley, a select few appreciate the fishing and wildlife available.
All along the stretch of I-75, there are several scenic/rest areas on both sides of Alligator Alley that offer convenient parking and access to the waterways. In addition, there are several basic boat ramps available if you looking to separate from the public access points. Be sure to check out our Alligator Alley Fishing Spots with HD photos for more detailed information.
The bass fishing along Alligator Alley is excellent. The banks of the waterway are lined with large rocks that provide a good amount of structure, as well as varying levels of vegetation (some so thick you start to consider walking across). These fish will bite at anything and at any time. Top water lures are some of the best fishing action, but don’t be scared to try throwing out a lipless crank bait, spinner bait, or wacky rigged worm. Depending on the thickness of the vegetation and courage of casting, be sure to increase your line weight accordingly. Be sure to submit your pictures to CompleteFloridaFishing.com.
